Games with root beer in them - an IFDB Poll

RSS FeedI played two entries in the Single Choice jam that made very visible references to root beer. Then I realized not many other games did that I could think of. I had one of my own. But given I like root beer much better than Coke or Pepsi, I thought I'd see what games make reference to it.
Obviously the more prominent reference the better. If it's an option on a passing vending machine, okay. If it's an item, great!
Root beer floats count, too, and in fact get a special bonus of ... umm ... me being impressed.
Note: root beer is also known as sasparilla or sarsparilla. So those count too!

I don't think you can put spoiler tags into the individual nominations, but in case anyone's curious, in Finding Martin you get the root beer by (Spoiler - click to show)setting the watch to 1:45, putting it in your pocket, and then setting the watch to 1:49/snapping your fingers to call the waiter and putting it in your pocket again.

It certainly did!
So far I've not found a use for it, but I've not got to the end yet, so maybe root beer will be the plot point on which the whole thing hangs!
Oh, and I did check, but sadly:

Days after I see this poll (and googled 'root beer', having no idea what it is), I stumble across root beer in the game X-Child by Jesse Burneko!
Check it out. Not only is this NPC drinking a root beer, we even learn this: "Professor Schwar, known to some only as, “The Root Beer Drinking Man,” is perhaps one of the most untrusted professors on campus."
Playing further on, I have now discovered that the root beer is a crucial plot item!

Oh man! This is pretty awesome! I should have added that root beer, as it's known in America, may be known as Sasparilla elsewhere.
The most memorable incidence of this in a movie to me was in The Big Lebowski (profanity warning, but you may remember the scene)

I searched all my walkthrough markup files, both completed and in-progress, and only my file for Threediopolis had "root beer" mentioned in it. It's astonishing to realize that root beer, which was once America's favourite soda, has almost no representation in IF.

Thanks for your research! It is a bit sad. Fortunately there are no laws against drinking root beer while playing a text adventure, but it'd be nice to have more representation.
